Blue Force Gear Vickers Padded 2 Point Sling
The Blue Force Gear Vickers Padded 2 Point Sling combines the tactical capability of the standard Vickers Combat Applications Sling with a fixed 2-inch closed-cell foam pad in the rear section. Same patented Quick Adjuster, same Invista solution-dyed CORDURA® webbing, same instant length transition — with the pad that Shotgun News called "without doubt the most comfortable combat carry sling I have ever slung around my shoulders." Built in the USA, Berry Compliant, and backed by BFG's limited lifetime warranty.
Key Features
- Fixed 2" inline closed-cell foam pad: Does not slide up or down the sling body. Will not separate or absorb water weight. Stays where it contacts the shoulder.
- Patented Quick Adjuster with contrasting wolf gray pull tab: Instantly transitions from hands-free carry to fighting length with a single pull. Operable under gloves.
- 2" tubular padded webbing, 1.25" unpadded section: Full sling runs Invista solution-dyed CORDURA® — colorfast under UV, abrasion, moisture, and wash cycles.
- Hardware options — Nylon or Metal: Glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel® nylon (lighter, more flexible; what most U.S. military-spec slings ship with). Anodized machined aluminum adjuster with phosphate steel triglides for maximum strength.
- Adjustable length: 57" to 67" (padded section).
- Reversible mount: Muzzle-up carry for bolt-action rifles and shotguns.
- Compatible with M4 carbines, carbines, and rifles. Attaches through triglides via swivels, loops, or combined sling hardware.
- Attachment hardware sold separately.
- NSN: 1005-01-632-4682 (Black, Padded).
- Made in USA, Berry Compliant, with BFG's limited lifetime warranty.
Why It Matters in the Field
The unpadded Vickers Sling is the right tool for operators who keep the weapon up and the sling under tension most of the time. The padded version is the right tool for patrol, extended movement, vehicle operations, and any environment where the weapon rides slung for hours at a stretch. A full patrol or dismounted movement with a loaded M4 across the shoulders is a different task than a short hall-clearing drill, and the pad makes the difference in operator comfort and posture over a long day.
The closed-cell foam is a specific material choice. Closed-cell foam does not absorb water — it won't gain weight in rain, stream crossings, or high-humidity environments. It won't separate under repeated compression from a weapons sling under load. The pad is fixed in position on the sling body and does not migrate to the wrong location during movement or transition.
The Quick Adjuster and CORDURA® construction are identical to the standard Vickers Sling. No capability trade-off for the padded version — the same instant length transition, the same durable webbing, the same hardware options. The padded version is longer at full extension (57" to 67" vs. 54" to 64") to account for the pad section.

Why tacticaledge.com Carries It
The Vickers Padded Sling has an NSN, ships to every branch of the U.S. military, and has the same 500,000+ service record as the unpadded version. It is not a comfort accessory — it is the right configuration for operators who carry long. tacticaledge.com stocks it because the operators near Camp Lejeune who buy here know the difference between a short range session and a full patrol day, and so do we.
FAQ
How does the padded version differ from the standard Vickers Sling?
The pad adds a fixed 2-inch closed-cell foam section at the rear of the sling for shoulder comfort during extended carry. The padded version is also slightly longer (57"–67" vs. 54"–64" for the unpadded). All other features — Quick Adjuster, CORDURA® webbing, hardware options, attachment method — are identical.
Will the pad slide out of position?
No. The pad is fixed in-line on the sling body and does not slide. It contacts the shoulder at the same position every time the sling is donned.
Will the pad absorb water or add weight when wet?
No. Closed-cell foam does not absorb water. The pad will not gain weight in rain, humidity, or wet environments.
Nylon or metal hardware — which should I choose?
Nylon (glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel®) is lighter and more flexible — the hardware that ships on most U.S. military-spec Vickers Slings. Metal (anodized machined aluminum adjuster with phosphate steel triglides) adds strength for heavier weapons or demanding attachment points. Both are duty-grade.
Is attachment hardware included?
No. The sling attaches to fixed-loop firearm attachment systems directly. Front and rear hardware for different attachment methods is sold separately.
What colors are available?
Black and Coyote Brown are stocked at tacticaledge.com. Additional colors — Kryptek Highlander, Kryptek Typhon, MultiCam Black, MultiCam Arid, MultiCam Tropic — are available through BFG's Custom Sling Builder.
